Eurasian Collared Dove Bird – Least Concern Species

Hello friends, today after many days I am here with a post about a special bird. Today I will tell you about a bird that has been listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List. So that bird is none other than a Eurasian collared dove bird (Known as holo bird in Gujarati) which is quite calm in nature. Let’s know more information about the Eurasian collared dove bird.

Interesting facts about Eurasian Collared Dove Bird

• The scientific name is Streptopelia decaocto and species is S. decaocto.
• If we talk about the native of dove species, it natives to Europe and Asia and later it was introduced to Japan, North America, and islands.
• On average length is 13 inches with a wingspan of 19–22 inches, and a weight of around 125–240 grams.
• To identify a collared dove, They have a black half band on their neck.
• The lifespan of a collared dove is up to 10 years but it can live up to 17 years. The oldest recorded Eurasian collared-dove found in the wild was at around 17 years.
• According to IUCN RED LIST ASSESSMENT, the number of mature individuals is around 40-75 million and the good news is that the current population trend is Increasing.
